POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) collaborates with the Director of Operations (DOO) and General Manager (GM) to oversee all restaurant operations, team performance, and guest satisfaction. Serving as an active leader and mentor, the ASM cultivates a positive, high-energy environment focused on team accountability and hospitality excellence. This role requires strong culinary and service knowledge, sharp operational instincts, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting. The ASM coordinates daily planning, team development, and floor management to achieve performance targets across sales, prime cost controls (food and labor), employee retention, food safety, and facility standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead daily floor operations in partnership with the GM to ensure guest-first service and seamless kitchen execution. Support the recruitment, on boarding, structured training, and ongoing performance coaching of all front- and back-of-house team members. Ensure all menu items consistently meet recipe specifications, portion controls, plating aesthetics, and peak serving temperatures. Partner with the DOO and GM to drive sales, manage labor targets, and control food and beverage costs in alignment with P&L goals. Enforce strict cash-handling policies, drawer reconciliations, register audits, and secure deposit protocols. Support progressive discipline, coaching conversations, and termination recommendations in direct compliance with company and HR policies. Step in seamlessly on the line or service counter during peak volume, rush hours, or staffing shortages. Prepare operational paperwork, shift reports, inventory logs, and labor schedules accurately and within established deadlines. Oversee receiving procedures, verifying that vendor shipments match invoice unit counts, temperature standards, and quality specifications. Inspect, maintain, and safeguard all kitchen and service equipment according to routine preventative maintenance schedules. Enforce full compliance with local, state, and federal health, sanitation, wage-and-hour, and workplace safety mandates. Champion workplace safety and maintain the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HazCom), emergency protocols, and timely incident reporting. Participate in all scheduled leadership meetings, quarterly business reviews, and mandatory training workshops.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
2+ years of restaurant supervisory or assistant management experience in a high-volume, fast-casual or full-service setting. High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality, culinary arts, or business management is preferred (equivalent practical experience considered). Strong working knowledge of restaurant financial levers, including inventory controls, food costing, waste reduction, and labor management. Proven leadership capability to coach, schedule, and direct a diverse hourly team of 15+ staff members. Hands-on familiarity with restaurant inventory tracking, kitchen line equipment, and vendor delivery systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish fluency is an asset. Proficient in restaurant POS software, workforce scheduling/HRMS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Decisive problem-solving abilities with the composure to handle high guest volume and floor escalations with sound judgment. Open availability to work full-time (40+ hours per week), including mornings, late nights, weekends, and major holidays, with flexibility to cover emergency shifts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical stamina to stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods (8+ hours daily). Must have strength and ability to frequently and repeatedly reach, bend and stoop. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without difficulty. Must be able to work flexible hours and fill in for staff if emergencies arise.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years of age. Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the US. Must pass casino background check.
