Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Supervisor - Patient Transport Services to oversee daily patient transport operations and support a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment. This position provides leadership, guidance, and motivation to Patient Transport Services team members while ensuring high standards of service, safety, equipment maintenance, documentation, and regulatory compliance. The Supervisor serves as a resource for the Patient Transport team, responds promptly to patient and staff concerns, and works closely with leadership to maintain quality and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise, guide, motivate, and support assigned Patient Transport Services staff to promote strong performance and teamwork. Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and employee development. Prepare staff schedules, including days off, holidays, and vacations, while ensuring adequate coverage based on facility needs. Assign personnel to designated work areas and transport duties and coordinate daily patient transport activities. Monitor and track patient transports to ensure services are completed safely, efficiently, and appropriately. Maintain accurate records, log books, service binders, and other required department documentation. Review and update daily job duties and communicate responsibilities to regular and relief team members. Participate in facility Quality Assurance programs and support Joint Commission (JCAHO) compliance activities as required. Assign equipment to staff and monitor the daily use, cleaning, maintenance, and overall condition of department equipment. Ensure transport wheelchairs, gurneys, cars, vans, and other department equipment are clean, safe, and professional in appearance. Ensure staff follow proper supply-control procedures and receive appropriate training on the safe use of cleaning chemicals and sanitizing products. Identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions, or activities to the appropriate manager or director. Maintain clean, organized, and professional offices, storage areas, and supply closets. Respond to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency, take appropriate corrective action, and provide timely follow-up. Promote a safe work environment and reinforce department safety practices. Address employee performance concerns, document issues when necessary, and escalate matters to leadership for counseling or performance improvement plans. Proactively identify operational issues and implement appropriate solutions to improve service quality and team productivity. Perform other duties as assigned.

High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
