The location is expected to open Winter 2026.
SUMMARY:
The Store Manager leads all day-to-day operations of their location and is accountable for team performance, guest experience, product quality, food safety, sales, labor, inventory, financial controls, and store presentation. This position operates with a high level of ownership, sound judgment, timely communication, and follow-through. The Store Manager builds a caring, accountable workplace and ensures that employees are treated with the same kindness and respect extended to guests. The role works closely with the District Manager, Human Resources, and other support teams to implement company standards and comply with applicable California employment, workplace safety, and food-service requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivering excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, responding to inquiries, offering samples, and creating a welcoming atmosphere Processing customer transactions through the point-of-sale system accurately and enrolling guests in customer rewards programs Maintaining store cleanliness and presentation standards, including restocking merchandise, organizing displays, and performing assigned cleaning duties Supporting essential store operations such as inventory management, stock rotation, and logistics to ensure business continuity Demonstrating comprehensive product knowledge and communicating product information, including potential allergens, to guests effectively Serving product according to established appearance and serving size standards to ensure consistency and quality guest experiences Lead daily store operations, including opening and closing, guest service, product quality, cleanliness, maintenance, security, and overall store readiness. Coach the team to provide warm, knowledgeable, and efficient service; resolve guest concerns promptly and reinforce company standards. Recruit, interview, onboard, train, schedule, coach, evaluate, and develop employees; document performance concerns and coordinate corrective action or separation decisions with the District Manager and Human Resources. Build the leadership pipeline by assigning ownership, verifying required certifications, and preparing employees for expanded responsibility. Prepare schedules based on sales forecasts, employee availability, coverage needs, service standards, and labor goals. Maintain accurate time and payroll records and administer overtime, meal and rest periods, reporting time, split shifts, and other wage-and-hour requirements; prohibit off-the-clock work and promptly correct or escalate exceptions. Apply attendance, paid sick leave, time-off, and scheduling policies consistently; refer protected leave, medical restriction, pregnancy, disability, religious practice, and accommodation matters to Human Resources. Enforce food-safety, sanitation, allergen, temperature-control, storage, labeling, cleaning, pest-control, and product-inspection standards, including required response and reporting procedures. Manage ordering, receiving, inventory, product rotation, equipment, waste, product launches, promotions, signage, and training rollouts. Manage store financial controls, including tills, safe access, deposits, refunds, discounts, voids, cash discrepancies, invoices, and required daily or weekly reporting. Review sales, labor, waste, guest feedback, and training results; identify issues, implement action plans, and communicate progress to the District Manager. Conduct effective huddles and maintain timely, professional communication with employees, leadership, Human Resources, vendors, facilities partners, and support departments. Provide hands-on service and operational support, including the essential responsibilities assigned to Team Members and Shift Leads. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages all assigned employees within store operations, including Team Members, Shift Leads, and Assistant Store Managers, when applicable. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include participating in interviewing and hiring; onboarding and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; reviewing performance; recognizing and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving operational problems in partnership with the District Manager and Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience managing employees, schedules, labor, financial controls, inventory, training, guest recovery, and performance expectations. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties, communicate safety information, and complete required records.
Required certifications:
valid California Food Handler Card and an approved food-protection manager certification, obtained and maintained within company and legal timelines.
Computer skills:
proficiency with email, word processing, spreadsheets, shared drives, online forms and calendars, point-of-sale systems, scheduling and timekeeping systems, inventory tools, and team communication platforms. Working knowledge of food safety, workplace safety, cash handling, and California wage-and-hour practices applicable to hourly restaurant or retail employees. Successful completion of company-required leadership, safety, harassment-prevention, food-safety, and operational training. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Continually required to stand. Frequently required to walk. Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. Continually required to talk or hear. Occasionally required to taste or smell. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme heat or cold. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Regular use of point-of-sale devices, computers, tablets, phones, food-service equipment, cleaning tools, carts, ladders or step stools, and other store equipment is required.
