Supervises sales associates and retail store operations. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. May prepare work schedules and hire, train and evaluate sales associates. May supervise warehouse, cleaning, maintenance or security staff. Assists with resolving customer complaints.

Job Description

Santa Cruz Workwear is looking for a dependable and organized Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable helping customers, making sales, managing inventory, and keeping the store organized and running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Assist with daily store operations, including opening and closing Help lead the team, delegate tasks, and make sure daily priorities are completed Receive, count, organize, and restock inventory Maintain an organized sales floor and backstock area Learn our brands, products, sizes, and available stock Help customers find the right products and sizes Provide friendly customer service and confidently make sales Operate the Square POS system and process transactions accurately Help maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked displays Lift, carry, and move boxes of merchandise Handle customer questions or concerns professionally
Qualifications:
Previous retail, supervisory, or management experience Strong organization and attention to detail Comfortable taking initiative and working independently Dependable, responsible, and able to follow through on assigned tasks Strong communication and customer-service skills Comfortable learning detailed inventory information, including brands, styles, colors, and sizes Experience with Square or another retail POS system is preferred Flexible availability, including weekends This position may be part-time or full-time, with approximately 25-40 hours per week depending on availability and store needs.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 40.0 per week
