Role Description The Assistant Store Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Orange, CA, supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day store operations. This role helps lead the sales floor, driving client engagement, achieving sales and KPI targets, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences aligned with the Michael Kors brand. Responsibilities include coaching and scheduling team members, overseeing visual merchandising and brand presentation, and maintaining operational standards such as inventory management, loss prevention, and compliance with company policies. The Assistant Store Manager also contributes to talent development by participating in hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback, and partners with leadership to execute promotional activities and in-store events. This position requires hands-on floor presence, modeling luxury service standards, and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture. Qualifications Experience in retail or hospitality leadership with skills in team supervision, coaching, and performance management. Strong customer service and clienteling skills, including the ability to build long-term relationships and deliver luxury-level experiences. Sales and merchandising capabilities, including driving store KPIs, understanding product assortments, and executing visual standards. Operational skills in inventory control, cash handling, loss prevention, and adherence to store policies and procedures. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a diverse team environment. Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications; comfort working with sales reports and operational data. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to stand, walk, and lift merchandise as required.
