Qualifications Required:
Leadership Experience:
3-5+ years of store management experience in retail, boutique fashion, or secondhand/consignment environments.Volunteer Collaboration:
Proven track record of leading teams; experience working alongside nonprofit boards, committees, or volunteer networks is strongly preferred.Retail Acumen:
Solid understanding of financial reporting, pricing strategies, inventory management software, and visual merchandising.Communication & Community Engagement:
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate the Junior League's mission to donors, volunteers, and customers.Flexibility & Physical Demands:
Hands-on leadership style; ability to stand for extended periods, manage store logistics, and lift up and move up to 35 lbs. as needed.Preferred:
Experience in resale, consignment, or thrift retail operations Nonprofit or volunteer management experience Experience managing donated goods operations Background in process documentation and training Proficiency with Square POS inventory software andGoogle Workspace Essential Functions Operations & Sales Management:
Oversee daily Shop operations including opening/closing procedures, sales transactions, and customer service Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed sales goals Monitor inventory turnover and merchandise flow from donation to sales floor Analyze sales data and prepare regular performance reports for JLPA- MP leadership Maintain organized, attractive merchandise displays and shopping environment
Merchandising & Inventory Strategy:
Set and maintain overall merchandising standards for The Shop, including floor layout, product placement, displays, and seasonal presentations Establish pricing and markdown strategies that support sales goals while maximizing the value of donated merchandise Monitor inventory turnover and aging, and adjust pricing, placement, promotions, or markdowns to keep merchandise moving Ensure the sales floor remains fresh, well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing to both new and repeat customers Identify higher-value, designer, vintage, and specialty merchandise and determine the best placement or sales channel Plan seasonal floor resets, promotional displays, and special sale events Provide direction and guidance to Shop staff and volunteers on merchandising, pricing, and presentation standards Use sales and inventory data to evaluate what is selling and make informed merchandising and purchasing decisions Manage operating budget including supplies, facility maintenance, and staffingStaff Management:
Supervise, schedule, and develop Shop staff according to JLPA- MP personnel policies Foster collaborative, positive team environment Conduct hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff members Provide regular feedback and conduct performance evaluations Address performance issues promptly and professionally following Employee Handbook procedures Ensure adequate staffing coverage
Volunteer Coordination:
Partner with the Shop Committee Chair and JLPA- MP leadership to identify volunteer staffing needs Provide clear direction and support to volunteers during shifts Coordinate with Shop Committee Chair on volunteer needs and appreciation Facilitate smooth annual transition of volunteer leadership
Donor Relations & Inventory:
Establish and communicate donation acceptance criteria Ensure timely processing of donations from intake to sales floor Maintain accurate donation tracking for member quota and tax receipt purposes Prepare and distribute donor tax receipts according to schedule Build positive relationships with donor communityCommunication & Leadership:
Maintain professional communication with Operations VP, Shop Committee, and Junior League leadership Document processes and procedures for operational continuity Work collaboratively across JLPA- MP leadership structure Represent JLPA

- MP communications on campaigns, events, and public messaging including social media channels
Facility Management:
Coordinate facility maintenance, repairs, and janitorial services within budget Maintain adequate supply inventory Ensure Shop meets safety and cleanliness standards Oversee security procedures and loss preventionFinancial Administration:
Process daily sales reconciliation and bank deposits Track expenses and maintain budget accountability Prepare financial reports as requested Track and report on key Shop performance indicators Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and move items up to 35 pounds as needed Bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach to organize merchandise and oversee operations Visual acuity to evaluate merchandise quality and pricing Work Environment Retail store environment with variable temperature Interaction with diverse public, volunteers, and JLPA- MP members Occasional exposure to dust from donated items Fast-paced environment during peak shopping hours and special events Compensation Salaried position: Competitive compensation based on experience.
