Job Description

Lead Dental Assistant / Clinical Department Leader High Compensation for an Elite Dental Assistant We are looking for an exceptional Lead Dental Assistant who is ready to take full ownership of our clinical assisting department. This is not an entry-level position , and it is not the right opportunity for someone who simply wants to come to work, assist the doctor, and go home. We are intentionally offering top-of-market compensation because we are looking for a top-of-market person. If you consider yourself an elite dental assistant, someone who is highly organized, clinically excellent, proactive, accountable, and capable of leading other assistants, we want to meet you. If you need to be constantly reminded what needs to be done, are uncomfortable holding others accountable, or prefer to wait for someone else to solve problems, this position will probably not be a good fit. What This Role Really Is As our Lead Dental Assistant, you will be responsible for the performance and organization of the entire dental assisting department. You will still work chairside, but your responsibility goes well beyond chairside assisting. You will be expected to create and maintain a clinical environment where: Doctors are fully prepared for every procedure Rooms are properly set up before they are needed Instruments and supplies are organized and available Sterilization runs efficiently and consistently Inventory is maintained before anything runs out Clinical systems and protocols are followed Assistants know what is expected of them New assistants are trained properly Problems are identified and solved before they reach the doctor The entire clinical team operates at a high level Responsibilities You will be responsible for: Leading, organizing, and developing the dental assisting team Maintaining high clinical standards throughout the department Training and onboarding new dental assistants Coaching existing assistants and helping them improve Holding team members accountable to established systems and expectations Ensuring doctors are prepared and supported throughout the clinical day Overseeing room setup, turnover, sterilization, and clinical flow Managing dental supplies and inventory Monitoring ordering and preventing unnecessary waste or shortages Maintaining clinical equipment and coordinating repairs when necessary Creating and improving clinical systems and checklists Ensuring OSHA, infection-control, and safety protocols are consistently followed Helping the practice run on time and anticipating potential bottlenecks Communicating effectively with doctors, hygienists, administrative team members, and patients Setting the standard for professionalism, urgency, teamwork, and patient care Who We Are Looking For Our ideal candidate is someone who can confidently say: "I know how a great dental assisting department should operate, and I can make it happen." $32.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
