Job Description
Fabrication Shop Supervisor Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations, production, quality, safety, materials, and a team of approximately 35 employees. The ideal candidate will have strong steel fabrication, welding, blueprint reading, and leadership experience. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead 10-15 fabrication employees. Schedule production, workflow, and material deliveries. Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings. Oversee steel fabrication and carbon steel welding operations. Monitor quality, productivity, safety, and deadlines. Manage and order materials, supplies, and shop equipment. Oversee proper use of fabrication equipment and overhead cranes. Troubleshoot production issues and provide solutions. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop. Assist with hands-on fabrication when needed. Communicate effectively with employees, management, and vendors. Required Qualifications 5-10 years of supervisory/industrial management experience. 10+ years of steel fabrication experience. Extensive carbon steel welding and fabrication knowledge. Strong blueprint, measurement, and mathematical skills. Strong mechanical aptitude. Experience managing materials and production schedules. Proven ability to lead a team of 10-15 employees. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of workplace safety requirements. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Work Environment Manufacturing/fabrication shop environment with exposure to welding, noise, steel, machinery, chemicals, and overhead cranes. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
