An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.
About Us Village Pack & Ship Plus is a locally owned pack, ship, print, and business services store located in La Plaza Grande in The Villages. We help customers with shipping, packing, mailbox rentals, passport photos, printing, fingerprinting, notary services, and custom gift/print products. Hours Open Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm, Sat 9am-2pm We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented person who can grow with our store and help support both our daily operations and our growing print/custom product services. About the Role This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer service, is comfortable using computers, can stay organized in a busy environment, and is interested in learning more than one part of the business. The right person may grow into an assistant manager or team lead role. We are especially interested in someone who can help us develop and grow our print side, including custom printed items, sublimation products, photo gifts, flyers, forms, signs, and other creative customer projects.
Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Assisting customers with UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL shipments Packing items safely and accurately Selling shipping and office supplies Processing payments correctly Helping mailbox customers Conducting fingerprinting services Willingness to become a Notary Taking passport photos Helping with printing, copying, scanning, and basic design/print orders Assisting with custom printed products such as mugs, magnets, keychains, bags, photo gifts, and sublimation items Learning how to quote, organize, and complete customer print jobs Keeping the store clean, organized, and running smoothly Supporting daily store operations and helping solve customer needs Taking initiative and helping improve store processes over time What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Reliable and punctual Friendly, patient, and professional with customers Detail-oriented and accurate Comfortable using computers Willing to learn shipping systems, print services, and store procedures Organized and able to handle multiple tasks Comfortable working in a small-business environment Interested in helping grow the print and custom product side of the store Able to take direction but also think independently Available weekdays and some Saturdays Experience with Canva, basic design, printing, retail, shipping, office services, or small business operations is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
Physical Requirements This position requires:
Standing for most of the shift Frequent movement, bending, reaching, and lifting Ability to lift approximately 40-50 lbs when needed Ability to assist with packing, organizing, and moving packages Schedule 15-35 hours per week Weekday availability required Some Saturday availability required More hours may be available for the right candidate

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
