Beach Weekend Coffee is seeking an energetic, driven, and hospitality-focused Assistant Manager to help lead our Santa Rosa Beach location. This is more than a supervisory role—it's an opportunity to become part of the leadership team of a rapidly growing local coffee company. The Assistant Manager works directly alongside the Coffee Shop Manager to oversee daily operations, coach team members, maintain operational excellence, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. This is a working management position , meaning you are expected to lead from the front by serving customers, making beverages during peak hours, and supporting your team wherever needed. Primary ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development Lead by example through professionalism, positivity, and exceptional customer service. Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new baristas. Conduct weekly one-on-one check-ins with team members to provide coaching, recognize achievements, address concerns, and support professional growth. Help foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture. Ensure all team members consistently follow Beach Weekend Coffee standards and procedures. Daily Operations Assist in overseeing all daily café operations. Prepare espresso beverages, brewed coffee, smoothies, teas, and specialty drinks to company standards. Support the Manager in maintaining smooth daily operations and resolving customer concerns. Open and close the café following company procedures. Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards. Ensure every guest receives friendly, efficient, and memorable service. Scheduling & Labor Management Assist the Coffee Shop Manager with creating weekly schedules that balance customer service and labor efficiency. Help maintain labor costs within company targets while ensuring appropriate staffing during peak business hours. Monitor daily labor performance and proactively communicate staffing needs. Assist in managing employee attendance, shift coverage, and schedule adjustments. Inventory & Product Management Assist with weekly inventory counts and inventory accuracy. Monitor product levels and communicate ordering needs before shortages occur. Help reduce waste by following proper rotation, storage, and portion control procedures. Ensure merchandise and retail coffee displays remain fully stocked and visually appealing. Financial & Performance Expectations The Assistant Manager will be expected to help the management team achieve the following operational goals: Maintain labor costs within established company targets. Support growth in average ticket sales through suggestive selling and excellent guest service. Minimize product waste through proper inventory management. Maintain excellent customer satisfaction and online review ratings. Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately and consistently. Hold team members accountable to company standards while creating a positive work environment. Qualifications 2+ years of restaurant, coffee shop, or hospitality experience. Previous supervisory, shift lead, or assistant management experience preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to motivate and coach others. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
