Assistant Professor in Sport Management, 9 Month Salaried (Department of Sport Management - Anne's College) Florida State University - 4.3 Tallahassee, FL Job Details Full-time 7 hours ago Qualifications Academic research projects Doctoral degree Student mentoring Academic institution experience University teaching experience University experience Full Job Description Department Department of Sport Management | Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences Responsibilities The individual hired will be required to maintain an active research agenda, possess strong knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods for the effective mentoring of master's and doctoral student research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses (including teaching online courses), seek external funding, aid in developing external partnerships, and contribute to department and university growth through appropriate service activities. Qualifications Earned doctorate degree in Sport Management or related field; college/university teaching experience; mentoring experience; evidence of scholarly productivity; experience procuring external funding, or evidence of ability to procure external funding. An individual's program of research should align with one of the department's core content areas. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to individuals with a research interest aligned with business-related content (e.g., marketing, finance, economics, management). Preference will also be given to individuals with a record of procuring external funding. Other Information Candidates are being sought for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department Sport Management in the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. The department has four core areas: Legal and Policy Studies, Management, Marketing, and Media and Cultural Studies. This is a nine-month position, with possible summer employment. Candidates should be available to start in the Fall 2027 semester (approximately August 9, 2027). The roots of FSU's Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences date back to the university's establishment, and it is the oldest college of its kind in Florida. The College is home to six academic departments united through a common goal to maximize human potential. In total, the College includes the Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies, Department of Educational Psychology & Learning Systems, Department of Human Development & Family Sciences, Department of Health, Nutrition & Food Sciences, Department of Sport Management, School of Teacher Education, numerous research centers, and three laboratory schools (Florida State University School, FSU Pembroke Pines Charter School, and The Collegiate School at FSU Panama City). Anne's College serves over 4,000 students via approximately 200 full-time faculty and nearly 80 full-time staff.
