Site Manager - Young Parents Project Florida State University - 4.3 Tallahassee, FL Job Details Full-time 15 hours ago Qualifications RN License Driver's License Negotiation Full Job Description Department Center for Prevention and Early Intervention Policy Responsibilities Develops, coordinates, and implements complex daily program activities with the Young Parents Project (YPP) staff to ensure service delivery and contractual compliance with external agencies. Brings professional background to joint case reviews and weekly team meetings. Supervises one staff member (A&P). Works with staff to identify additional training needs in their implementation of the evidence-based mode. Promotes use of a reflective framework to discuss complex cases, and plan intervention strategies. Utilizes knowledge of the juvenile justice system in reviewing court reports and planning for court appearances. Attends agency staffing's about potential or current participants. Receives and organizes referrals. Determines the teen mother's eligibility and works with the family to complete initial Intake Assessments about the young parent and child. Also, explains and completes the consent process. Includes mother and fathers in the healthy development of their child. Assists families in negotiating the social service, educations, mental health and legal systems through referrals and care coordination; provides transportation to appointments as necessary. Accompanies the youth during court and provides support as needed. Conducts home visits using a reflective parenting approach. Provides support to teen parents by encouraging goal setting, healthy relationships, school enrollment, use of community services and reduced court involvement. Focuses on the needs of infants and toddlers to support all domains of development. Develops and maintains partnerships to address the infant mental health and early intervention needs of young families. Attends recommended training about court-involved families, infant mental health, and early intervention to improve knowledge, skills, abilities. Utilizes all program experiences to improve project implementation and performance. Assists the Project director with professional presentations about court-involved teen mothers and their children. Completes other tasks assigned. Documents within required timeframes-calendared work schedule and home visits, progress notes, pre/post assessments, JPO and court reports, as well as reports to the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). Provides review of data maintained within the project's secure website to ensure consistent documentation, and adherence to evidence-based standards. Contributes to the project's data management initiative and support reporting of data to funders in a timely manner. Participates in the Young Parents Project Management Team in program planning, decision making, and the development of written policies and procedures for the program, ensuring compliance with DJJ. Works with the Project Director to hire and train new staff, maintain records of service provision, and ensure compliance with university policy and federal regulations in regard to HR issues. Responsible for providing nursing care including an independent assessment of the health and well-being of the young mother and child. Ensures the establishment of a medical home and communicates with the family's medical provider as needed. Utilizes knowledge of infant development, attachment, early emotional development, parent-child relationships and the impact of trauma on the teen's willingness to access health care, the birth experience, and parenting. Educates about reproductive health, pre-post-natal care, nutrition, labor and delivery, child health and development, safety/injury prevention, and family planning. Provides observation and screening of baby's development. Responds to crisis situations in the home, to triage and coordinate with other mental health and/or medical providers as needed including emergency services to ensure the optimal health and safety of the young mother and baby. Coordinates home visits as part of the professional team working with the Infant Mental Health Specialist, the Project director and FSU Faculty. Participates in joint case reviews and team meetings to develop and coordinate goals for change for the teen and baby. Receives supervision/consultation regarding the Nurse's role in the Minding the Baby© replication model. Works with providers in the community for appropriate treatment or referral for treatment, regarding perinatal and adolescent health, family planning, well-baby, sick child and immunization visits. This position is required to transport project participants and their children in their personal vehicles to essential community services/appointments and supports/educates the teen during visits. Ability to maintain accurate records. Documents within timeframes-work schedule, progress notes, screening and assessments, primary care and infant immunizations, and medical updates. Provides medical information in a timely manner for reports. Contributes to the development of manuals and training materials, particularly related to the medical needs of young families. Systematic gathering of informed consents in full compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) standards, ensuring all participants understand the purpose, procedures, and protections of the study. It also involves collecting, organizing, and analyzing data related to program compliance, participant engagement, and service utilization. Demographic information-such as age, socioeconomic status, educational background, and health indicators-is compiled to identify trends and disparities within the population served. Additionally, examining variables of statistical significance to evaluate program effectiveness, highlight areas for improvement, and support evidence-based decision-making that strengthens outcomes for young parents enrolled in the project. Attends training to increase knowledge/skills as requested. Shares lessons learned from experience in working with teen parents and children with other in the field. Completes tasks assigned by the Team Leader/Project Director. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years experience related to health and human services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years in the same. A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire. Current State of Florida Registered Nurse license Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree in Social Work or other Human Services related field with expertise in trauma-informed care for vulnerable teen parents. Experience working with juvenile and dependency court. Five year's experience in project management, grant-funded projects, program evaluation and multi-disciplinary teaming.
