This role helps coordinate quoting, policy servicing, renewals, and account management for owner-operators and trucking fleets. The ideal candidate understands commercial trucking insurance, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of deadlines and client needs. Key Responsibilities Insurance Operations & Account Management Assist the manager with daily workflows, staff assignments, and service priorities. Coordinate new business submissions, quotes, policy issuance, endorsements, and renewals. Gather and review applications, driver information, vehicle schedules, loss runs, and other underwriting documents for completeness. Support accounts involving commercial auto liability, motor truck cargo, physical damage, general liability, and related coverages. Track pending requests and follow up with clients, carriers, and underwriters. Maintain accurate records in the agency management system. Client Service & Retention Serve as a point of contact for policy questions, account updates, and service requests within authorized responsibilities. Coordinate certificates of insurance and other required policy documents. Communicate renewal timelines, outstanding requirements, and policy changes clearly. Help resolve service concerns and escalate complex coverage or billing issues to the manager. Support client retention through timely follow-up and dependable service. Team Support & Quality Control Help train team members on agency procedures, documentation standards, and customer service expectations. Review work for accuracy, completeness, and timely processing. Monitor open tasks, renewal deadlines, and service backlogs. Reinforce established procedures for handling client information and insurance transactions. Provide operational coverage when the manager is unavailable, within delegated authority. Business Development & Reporting Assist with lead follow-up, quote tracking, and identifying additional coverage needs. Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to support a smooth transition from prospect to active client. Prepare weekly reports on submissions, renewals, retention, outstanding tasks, and service issues. Recommend improvements that strengthen efficiency and the client experience. Qualifications Minimum of two years of commercial insurance experience; trucking insurance experience strongly preferred. Active property and casualty insurance license appropriate to the role and work location. Working knowledge of trucking insurance terminology, underwriting requirements, and policy servicing. Experience with agency management systems, carrier portals, Microsoft Office, and CRM software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Previous team leadership, training, or supervisory experience preferred.
