Job Description

Job Title Finishing Department Manager III Position Overview Shaw Industries is hiring a Department Manager to oversee the Finishing department at Plant 4. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to drive accountability in the Finishing department while leveraging the team to achieve superior performance results in (Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost). Success in this position will require continuous development of associates, driving reliability initiatives, and partnering with outside partners (R D, Production Planning, and Dye Technical) to ensure performance metrics and financial targets are met.
Responsibilities:
Drive safety culture in plant and department. Manage the finishing manufacturing department. Ensure the department runs first quality carpet at or above standard efficiency Work on projects and assignments as required by leadership. Work collaboratively with Quality Control to ensure conformance of products to standards. Partner with Internal Customers to ensure promise dates for products are met Attend quality audits. Work with the R D department on new product introductions. Monitor POVA data to ensure the department is operating effectively and efficiently. Weekly Review of POVA and Cost Reduction Initiatives to ensure maximum profitability of process areas. Coach and develop Process Engineer, Supervisors, and Associates using the existing talent management resources.

Bachelor's degree and management experience (Process Engineer, Department Manager , etc .) . Proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of associates . Proven ability to improve processes and cost reduction initiatives . Proven ability to establish/maintain/drive positive associate relations .
Preferred:
Experience with continuous manufacturing processes .
