An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.

Job Description

Seeking an outgoing, organized, energetic Assistant Manager for a fun Retail Gift Shop in a tourist area. This store specializes in Knives and Outdoor Gear. It is important that the Assistant Manager is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about knives and outdoor gear. Opportunity for bonuses & advancement. General hours are 10:30 am
  • 6:30pm.
This position is full time
  • 5 days per week.
Schedule includes weekends.
Requirements include:
High School Diploma or equivalent, 1 year retail experience, cash register/POS experience.
Necessary skills include:
math accuracy, customer service, inventory management, stocking merchandise, display design & setup. Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of the retail store, including overseeing staff, inventory control, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize POS system and cash register to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and assisting with purchases.
  • Supervise and train team members on sales techniques, product knowledge, and store policies.
  • Assist with purchasing decisions, stock management, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Implement marketing strategies to drive sales and promote products effectively.
  • Utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Uphold company standards for employee performance, conduct, and customer interactions.
