A Department Manager manages a department in a large retail store. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.
08/28/202 6 JOB SUMMARY This position performs technical duties in support of the maintenance of department records.
MAJOR DUTIES
Reviews reports completed by department personnel for completeness and compliance with policies and procedures . Answers department telephone and provides information and assistance; assists visitors . Accepts payments for reports, permits, bonds, GCIC records, open records requests, etc . Performs criminal history checks . Performs fingerprinting functions for the public and new employees . Processes permit applications . Maintains daily log of receipts . Processes incoming and outgoing department mail and faxes . Scans, attaches, and renames all inmate booking packets; shreds packets after entry . Processes bonds for the public and bonding companies . Balances checks, cash, and credit cards at the end of the shift; checks for errors and sends completed cash settlement to Finance Department . Processes expungements for records restrictions . Processes open records requests . Performs related duties .
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Records Supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.

Guidelines include NIBRS rules, GCIC guidelines, Open Records Act requirements, and city and department policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required . More than two years of related experience required . Possession of or ability to readily obtain
