Retail Sales Manager - West Hawai'i Full‑
Time:
salaried position with regular travel between park locations
Locations:
Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park, Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park, Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site About Hawai'i Pacific Parks Association Hawai'i Pacific Parks Association is a nonprofit cooperating association working in partnership with the National Park Service to support education, interpretation, and visitor services across Hawai'i's national parks. Our retail operations help interpret park themes, cultural understanding, and resource stewardship through mission‑aligned products and exceptional visitor service. Position Overview HPPA seeks a full‑time Retail Sales Manager to oversee retail store operations on the west side of Hawai'i Island. The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for the daily oversight, performance, and mission alignment of all sales outlets at Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau NHP, Kaloko-Honokōhau NHP, and Puʻukoholā Heiau NHS. This position provides leadership to retail staff, ensures operational consistency, and supports organizational initiatives that strengthen HPPA's mission. Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations & Staff Leadership Supervise, support, and guide daily store operations across multiple park locations. Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate retail staff. Create work schedules, approve timesheets, and manage leave requests. Conduct regular staff meetings and participate in management meetings. Merchandising & Product Strategy Curate, review, and maintain mission‑aligned product lines. Oversee merchandising standards and ensure consistent visual presentation. Collaborate with other departments on product development and inventory needs. Sales Performance & Reporting Monitor, track, and report sales performance for all west‑side locations. Analyze sales trends and support strategies to improve revenue and visitor experience. Coordinate and participate in outreach sales events. Inventory & Financial Accuracy Maintain and utilize point‑of‑sale (POS) systems for sales, reporting, and inventory accuracy. Manage stock levels, inventory accuracy, and shrink control. Direct annual inventory counts and verify inter‑store transfers. Reconcile purchase order invoices with receiving vouchers to ensure financial accuracy. Collaboration & Compliance Work closely with HPPA departments to support organizational goals. Ensure compliance with HPPA policies, NPS requirements, and safety standards. Maintain strong professional relationships with park partners and staff. Qualifications Experience in retail management, preferably multi‑site operations. Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and inventory management Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage financial documentation and produce accurate sales reporting. Commitment to HPPA's mission and the interpretive goals of partner parks. Ability to work across multiple locations on Hawai'i Island.

$58,240.00 - $66,560.00 per year
