Job Description

SUMMARY Position requires top-level bike service ability, selling bikes, apparel, accessories, and directing trail information to the public. This includes obtaining payment for goods sold and/or rented, safely fitting and renting bikes and biking accessories, and utilizing the point-of-sale system while balancing daily receipts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Including the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide superior service to all guests, including the general public and Grand Targhee employees, maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic attitude. Greet guests and discuss their needs for rental, retail, and repair services. Sell, service, rent, and fit bikes, helmets, and other protective gear to guests. Prepare rental forms, obtaining customer signatures and other necessary information. Ensure proper understanding of rental forms and waivers of liability. Explain rental fees, policies, and procedures clearly to guests. Inspect and adjust rental items to ensure they meet customer needs. Receive, examine, and tag articles to be altered, cleaned, stored, or repaired. Perform bike tuning functions and fill work tickets for major maintenance or repairs. Assist retail clerks when needed, including checking in new merchandise. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bike inventory and bike supplies. Conduct physical inventories when necessary. Handle guest issues respectfully and professionally. Cross-train to sell in other key areas of Habitat retail. Direct guests to the appropriate bike merchandise and provide up-to-date information (current trends, technical details, fabric characteristics, etc.) to assist with purchases. Accept payment efficiently and courteously, ensuring proper entry of payment details into the cash register, accurate change handling, and verification of credit card transactions. Assist retail clerks with cash register balancing at the beginning and end of shifts, following current policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals. Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others. Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledgeable and skilled in running a cash register with previous cash handling experience preferred. Up-to-date mechanical and technical experience working on bikes preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS

Guest service experience is required. Knowledge of bikes with general mechanical abilities. Knowledge of local and regional trails. Ability to clean and organize the tune and service area. Willingness to assist co-workers and other departments as needed. Ability to maintain a pleasant working environment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and routine reports. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent verbal communication skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
