We are looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and experienced Retail Manager to join our team at our small, family-owned chocolate and ice cream shop. This is more than a traditional retail management position. Our Retail Manager plays an important role in creating a welcoming experience for our customers, supporting our employees, maintaining our high standards, and helping our shop continue to grow. Must be available for evenings, weekends, holidays, and busy seasonal periods. What You'll Do Lead & Support the Team Lead, train, coach, and motivate retail employees of all age groups. Create a positive, respectful, and productive work environment. Assist with employee scheduling and ensure appropriate coverage. Hold employees accountable to company policies and customer service standards. Provide ongoing training and feedback. Help resolve employee and customer concerns professionally. Provide appropriate guidance and support to teenage employees while maintaining clear expectations and accountability. Help young employees build confidence and learn the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace. Lead by example with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Provide Exceptional Customer Service Make every customer feel welcome and appreciated. Help customers choose chocolates, gifts, ice cream, and other products. Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally. Ensure the retail area consistently provides a clean, organized, and inviting experience. Build relationships with regular customers and our local community. Manage Daily Retail Operations Open and close the store according to company procedures. Oversee daily retail operations and ensure everything runs smoothly. Monitor product displays, stocking, pricing, and merchandising. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the retail area. Ensure products are properly packaged, labeled, and displayed. Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs. Assist with receiving and putting away merchandise. Help maintain accurate cash handling and POS procedures. Drive Sales Encourage employees to provide knowledgeable product recommendations. Help meet daily, weekly, and seasonal sales goals. Identify opportunities to increase sales through displays, promotions, sampling, and customer engagement. Understand our products well enough to confidently explain them to customers. Help create an exciting and enjoyable shopping experience. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: A natural leader who enjoys working with people. Qualifications Previous retail, restaurant, hospitality, or supervisory experience preferred. Previous management or leadership experience preferred. Strong customer service skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and make good decisions. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry boxes and products as needed. Must be dependable and punctual. Chocolate or ice cream experience is a plus, but not required.
