Position Summary Direct Dimension is seeking a mature and experience MIG welders to oversee and work alongside a small team of junior and senior welders on our second shift. This is a hands-on role responsible for MIG welding and fabrication of steel components while maintaining strong quality standards and production efficiency. Additional duties include peer supervision, closing down the shop at night, ensuring safety protocols are enforced and communicating issues/production status with ownership/management. The ability to lay quality welds, consistently is a pre-requisite. You will, at times, be a mentor and at times be a producer. Overall, you will be responsible, experienced and safe. What You Will Do Perform MIG welding on steel components according to blueprints and weld specifications Fit, tack, and weld components to required tolerances and quality standards Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and production instructions Set up and adjust welding equipment, fixtures, and materials for each job Inspect welds and assemblies to ensure they meet company and customer quality requirements Perform fabrication tasks including grinding, cutting, and material preparation Maintain welding equipment and keep workstations clean and organized Record completed production and report quality or equipment issues Work with teammates and supervisors to improve workflow, safety, and productivity Follow all safety procedures and maintain a professional shop environment Lock up shop at end of shift, including shut-down of equipment and lights Report any late arrivals or missed shifts What We Are Looking For MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment Ability to read blueprints and understand weld symbols Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as required Successful completion of a weld test Experience as shop lead Minimum OSHA 10, preferable OSHA 30 Preferred Experience Formal welding training or certification Experience welding heavy plate or structural steel Experience working in a production manufacturing environment Compensation Compensation is based on welding ability demonstrated during the interview and weld test.

Typical range:

$28 - $30 per hour depending on leadership experience and skill level at MIG welding Opportunities for overtime may be available based on production needs.
