Duties

• Management of all MTB shop projects.
• Management of all MTB Shop personnel.
• Shop personnel service scheduling as needed.
• Customer interface to update them on shop projects as well as to clarify details.
• Direct (but not necessarily perform yourself) the training of new shop or service personnel as required.
• Hiring and Dismissal of shop employees as needed.
• Offer direction and technical support to shop and field service personnel to resolve project or field service problems.
• Schedule and project manage shop repair, rebuild and recontrol projects.
• Oversee and verify ordering of parts for shop and serv ice projects.
• Quality Control on shop projects. Verify craftsmanship is up to high MTB Standards.
• Assist with better control of job inventory placement and electronic database control for used parts.
• Technical Support to customers as required.
• Coaching and/or mentoring as required to the service and shop personnel. Requirements
• Knowledge of bearing types and bearing fits.
• Knowledge of hand scraping technology.
• Knowledge of machine tool alignments and alignment tolerances.
• Knowledge of machine leveling techniques.
• Knowledge of Hydraulics, Hydrostatics and Pneumatic system technologies and devices.
• Knowledge of machine tool safe-guarding principles.
• Knowledge of way types and way repair technologies.
• Knowledge of spindle systems and spindle technologies, from low to ultra-high speed.
• Knowledge of basic machine tool operation and usage.
