An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.

Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing proceduresManage and motivate team members to maintain high performance standardsRun shifts efficiently, ensuring timely order preparation and deliveryHandle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionallyManage cash transactions and maintain accurate financial recordsAssist in inventory management and supply orderingEnsure compliance with food safety and hygiene standardsContribute to a positive work environment and team moraleAssist in training and developing new team membersImplement and maintain company policies and proceduresCollaborate with the store manager to achieve sales targets and improve store performanceQualificationsProven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in the food service industryStrong math and problem-solving skills for effective shift management and financial handlingExcellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanorDemonstrated ability to manage and motivate employeesProficiency in cash handling and basic accounting principlesExceptional organizational and multitasking abilitiesAttention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standardsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing prioritiesStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenFlexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periodsHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in business management is a plus
