Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Site Supervisor/Dispatcher to lead our transportation operations and ensure seamless coordination of freight and vehicle dispatching. In this vital role, you will oversee daily road transportation activities, manage dispatching processes, and facilitate effective communication between drivers, clients, and internal teams. Your proactive approach will help optimize logistics workflows, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, and deliver exceptional customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where organizational skills and transportation expertise drive success. Duties Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400. Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency in real-time. Manage multi-line phone systems to handle inquiries from drivers, clients, and internal departments with professionalism and clarity. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations by maintaining accurate records, conducting data entry, and overseeing shipping & receiving operations. Communicate effectively with drivers via phone calls, providing clear instructions on routes, schedules, and delivery priorities while practicing excellent phone etiquette. Collaborate with supply chain teams to coordinate logistics, manage freight documentation, and support transportation planning initiatives. Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, vehicle maintenance schedules, fleet management data, and shipping documentation using SyteLine or similar ERP systems. Assist in analyzing transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within road transportation operations. Qualifications Proven experience in dispatching or transportation management within a logistics or supply chain environment. Strong knowledge of
GIS, GPS
tracking systems, vehicle dispatch software, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or AS400. Familiarity with DOT regulations governing freight transport and vehicle safety standards. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Effective communication skills for internal coordination and customer service via phone calls and written correspondence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data entry and analysis purposes. Ability to work independently while collaborating seamlessly with team members across departments. Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers is preferred.
