ASSISTANT MANAGER
Worldwide Jewelry & Pawn
ABOUT THE POSITION
Worldwide Jewelry & Pawn is looking for a dependable, motivated, and customer focused Assistant Manager to join our team. This is a hands on leadership position for someone who enjoys working with people, learning about a wide variety of merchandise, and helping a team succeed. No two days in the pawn business are exactly the same. You may be helping a customer with a jewelry purchase, evaluating merchandise, negotiating a transaction, organizing inventory, coaching an employee, or helping lead the sales floor. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Store Manager and serves as a key member of the store's leadership team. This position includes responsibilities for daily operations, staff development, compliance, inventory, customer satisfaction, and overall store performance.
WHAT YOU'LL DO LEAD AND SUPPORT THE TEAM
Support the Store Manager with daily store operations. Help lead, coach, motivate, and develop team members. Actively support employees in reaching their individual monthly sales and performance goals through coaching, encouragement, follow up, and accountability. Monitor team progress toward monthly goals and help identify opportunities to improve performance. Lead by example by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a strong presence on the sales floor. Maintain a professional, positive, and customer focused work environment. Help ensure company policies and procedures are followed consistently. Step into a leadership role when the Store Manager is unavailable.
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TRANSACTIONS
Provide excellent customer service throughout the buying, selling, and pawn process. Confidently discuss merchandise value and negotiate with customers. Oversee transactions for accuracy and compliance. Ensure cash tills maintain required levels throughout the business day. Help resolve customer questions and concerns professionally.
MERCHANDISE AND INVENTORY
Review pricing on pawned and purchased merchandise. Verify merchandise condition, functionality, and pricing accuracy. Research products and market values to help make informed buying and pricing decisions. Ensure inventory is cleaned, priced, labeled, and displayed properly. Maintain organized, attractive, and customer friendly merchandise displays. Help identify and reduce aged or unproductive inventory. Review and update customer merchandise requests and wish lists.
COMPLIANCE AND STORE OPERATIONS
Ensure required pawn and purchase documentation is completed accurately. Help maintain compliance with applicable state pawnbroker laws and company procedures. Verify required notices, reports, and inquiries are completed accurately and on time. Ensure pawned and purchased merchandise is processed and priced in a timely manner. Complete and file required daily paperwork. Help maintain accurate records and organized store operations.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
High school diploma or GED required. Must be at least 18 years old. Previous management, supervisory, or team leadership experience required. Retail, customer service, or sales experience strongly preferred. Proven ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable for performance goals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable providing direction and feedback to employees. Comfortable negotiating and discussing merchandise value with customers. Goal oriented with the ability to help employees achieve individual and store performance goals. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to research products and make sound decisions. Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast paced environment. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills. Dependable, professional, and willing to learn.
PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED
Experience in the pawn industry is not required. We are willing to train the right person who is motivated and eager to learn. Experience in any of the following is a plus: Pawn, retail, sales, buying, or resale Bravo or similar point of sale and inventory systems Jewelry, electronics, tools, musical instruments, firearms, or collectibles Evaluating, pricing, buying, or reselling merchandise Supervising, training, coaching, or motivating employees
COMPENSATION AND PERFORMANCE BONUS
This is a salaried position with additional commission and bonus opportunities based on overall store performance. As an Assistant Manager, your success is tied to the success of the entire team. You will play an active role in coaching, motivating, and supporting employees as they work toward their individual monthly goals while helping the store achieve its overall performance targets. When the store succeeds, you share in that success. In addition to base salary, Assistant Managers are eligible to earn additional compensation based on the store's achievement of established monthly goals.

$42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
