Job Description

Position Description:
The Retail Administration and Banking Services role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall direction for the Bank's retail banking operations, ensuring an exceptional client experience while achieving business, service and operational objectives. This position oversees the performance and development of the retail banking team, branch operations, client care and compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The Retail Administration and Banking Services role works collaboratively with other areas of the Bank to drive consistent, exceptional client service across the entire retail division. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday, working 40 hours per week. Wages start at $75,000 - 100,000 per annum based on experience. Comprehensive responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of retail banking operations: Provide ongoing leadership, training and supervision of market retail leaders; provide for a superior level of client relation and promote a culture of exemplary service through example, direct guidance and motivation Provide for the administration of branch functions, including coordination of staffing and required resources; may (if required) direct and participate in day-to-day branch operations Develop and maintain retail banking and related policies and procedures for all retail markets (Manhattan, Wichita and Phoenix); oversee compliance with related internal controls and required documentation Review and approve or deny large and/or unusual transactions; maintain oversight of activities and provide for employee awareness to mitigate potential losses resulting from incomplete, erroneous or fraudulent transactions; intercede in and resolve complex inquiries, requests or transactions Maintain complete knowledge of the bank's products, services and delivery channels; know the "subject matter experts" across the range of bank operations Serve as "subject matter expert" or delegate responsibility as such for selected applications and vendors Serve as Premises/Physical Security Officer; coordinate with the Information Systems Director Pursue the professional development of subordinate staff, particularly branch retail leaders; establish and measure progress against goals and objectives Coordinate with education/training, compliance and other resources to ensure a fully cross-trained retail staff; participate in and require participation in bank-provided training Bank representation; business development: Participate in business and community affairs to increase the bank's visibility and to identify or enhance business opportunities Maintain an effective referral and sales environment in the Manhattan market through ongoing staff education of products and services; investigate and follows up on significant changes in status of existing clients; motivate and monitor staff in cross selling and product presentation; meet with clients to discuss needs or concerns and outlines appropriate services Assist the Director of Client Experience - Senior Vice President and others to facilitate continuous improvement in retail banking leadership, delivery, service and administration Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
High School Graduate or GED required; Associates or undergraduate degree preferred Two to three years of prior banking and management experience preferred Strong knowledge of retail banking products, services, operations, sales and service practices, and client relationship management Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a multi-branch retail banking organization and achieve established business, service, and financial objectives Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance requirements, risk management, and internal controls applicable to retail banking Exceptional leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to develop, coach, motivate, and retain employees Strong understanding of the client experience and the ability to establish a consistent, high-quality service culture throughout the Retail Division Ability to develop and execute retail banking strategies that support the Bank's overall goals Strong business development and relationship-management skills, including the ability to identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships and attract new business Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with the judgment to effectively manage complex client, employee, operational, and business situations Ability to analyze financial and operational information, identify trends and opportunities, and use data to drive decisions and performance Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and other areas of the Bank to achieve organizational objectives Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with banking technology, systems, and Microsoft Office applications Ability to champion a client-first culture and ensure that client experience is consistently reflected in the Retail Division's leadership, processes, employee behaviors, and delivery of products and services
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time Able to view a computer screen for long periods of time Must be able to speak and listen clearly both in person and on the phone Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy This job may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently
