Job Description

Bricks & Minifigs, the premier destination for buying, selling, and trading LEGO® products. is seeking a dedicated and professional Assistant Manager to support daily operations and contribute to growth of our store. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to maintain a well‑organized, efficient, and welcoming retail environment. Job Summary We are seeking someone who is energetic, detail oriented, professional and dedicated to support daily operations and contribute to the growth of store. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Owner/Operational Owner to oversee all aspects of the store operations. In this pivotal role you will help support the store management team in sales performance, staff development, inventory management, merchandising, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This position plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence and delivering a consistently positive experience for every customer. Candidates must have open availability to work a combination of opening and closing shifts which may include weekends. Duties Customer Service & Sales Ensure customers are greeted promptly and assisted with professionalism, enthusiasm, and strong product knowledge Recommend products that meet customer needs and support sales growth Communicate and promote the store's buy‑sell‑trade model to customers Operational Leadership Assist the Owner/Operational Owner in supervising daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash management and accurate POS transactions Lead and motivate sales associates to achieve sales goals and deliver top-tier customer service Assist with purchasing pre-owned LEGO products and ensure all buys are processed and documented efficiently for profitability Ensure and maintain a clean, safe and visually appealing environment through entire store that is consistent with brand standards Assist with loss prevention efforts to uphold all store policies and procedures Inventory & Merchandising Support inventory oversight, including restocking, product placement, pricing, tagging, and maintaining merchandising plans to maximize sales potential Ensure merchandise is accurately inventoried and displayed to maximize sales and maintain store presentation standards Oversee cashiering functions, including cash handling, POS transactions, and balancing registers with superior documentation during opening and closing Team Development Lead by example to foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture Provide coaching and feedback to ensure consistent, high‑quality customer service Assistance of coordination of employee orientation, training & development initiatives to foster a skilled and engaged team Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff members Additional Responsibilities Assist with scheduling, marketing or promotional initiatives, reporting and other tasks assigned by the Owner/Operational Owner Ensure compliance with company policies on pricing, purchasing, payroll, bookkeeping, and safety standards Maintain high standards of accuracy, integrity and professionalism in all store operations Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to enhance customer satisfaction Maintain organized records of sales data, inventory levels, and employee schedules using organizational skills Qualifications Reliable and punctual for all scheduled shifts Prior knowledge of LEGO® is highly preferred Previous resale, management or supervisory experience required, preferred minimum of 3 years retail management experience Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, merchandising, POS systems Knowledge of payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and cash handling procedures Skilled in negotiation, customer service excellence, and conflict resolution Ability to manage time effectively while juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience with recruiting, interviewing, training & development is highly desirable Organizational skills to oversee stock levels, pricing strategies, and promotional activities Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, reach overhead, rotate, and perform general retail-related physical tasks. Pay:
$12.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 30.0 per week
