Dairy Supervisor

Position Purpose The Dairy Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Dairy Department, ensuring product freshness, in-stock conditions, and an exceptional shopping experience. This role assists in driving sales, maintaining food safety standards, and leading department associates. Key Responsibilities Department Operations Assist in overseeing daily Dairy Department operations, including stocking, rotation, and merchandising Ensure all dairy products meet freshness, quality, and date-code standards Maintain proper inventory levels to support sales and minimize shrink Execute company merchandising plans, pricing, and promotional displays Leadership & Team Support Support hiring, training, and development of department associates Provide direction, coaching, and performance feedback to team members Promote a positive, team-focused work environment Step in as acting department lead when the Dairy Manager is absent Customer Service Deliver a high level of customer service by assisting customers with product selection and inquiries Resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner Ensure the department is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times Food Safety & Compliance Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature control guidelines Ensure compliance with company policies, local health regulations, and safety standards Monitor and maintain proper storage conditions for all refrigerated and frozen products Inventory & Shrink Control Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory tracking Identify and reduce shrink through proper handling, rotation, and markdown processes Maintain accurate pricing and signage throughout the department Qualifications Previous experience in grocery, dairy, or perishable departments preferred Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment Basic understanding of inventory management and merchandising Strong communication and customer service skills Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods Work Environment Fast-paced retail setting Exposure to refrigerated and freezer conditions Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
