THE BRADLEY LAW FIRM, PLLC
Metairie, Louisiana
INTAKE SPECIALIST AND CASE CLOSER
Location:
Metairie, Louisiana. In office, not remote or hybrid.
Compensation:
$52,000 base plus a monthly close-rate bonus. Realistic first-year range of $58,000 to $82,000 depending on performance.
Reports to:
Jarred P. Bradley, Managing Attorney Start date: Immediate Employment type: Full time, permanent What we are trying to fix We spend more than $23,000 a month on marketing. That brings roughly 155 people to this firm every month who need a criminal defense lawyer. We sign fewer of them than we should. That is not a marketing problem. It is a closing problem, and it is the biggest gap in the firm right now. This role exists to close it. The job, in two phases Phase one. Our intake coordinator is going out on maternity leave. You will run intake while she is out: every call, every web form, every walk-in, every text. Phase two. When she returns, she moves back into intake operations and you move into the closer seat full time. That is the permanent role. Intake coverage is how you learn the business. Closing is the job. Who is on the other end of the phone You are not selling software or insurance. You are talking to a mother whose son was arrested at two in the morning. To a man who just learned there is a warrant out for him. To someone who is frightened, embarrassed, and about to make one of the most consequential financial decisions of their life while their hands are shaking. That person needs a calm voice on the other end who understands what happens next and can explain clearly what this firm will do for them. And then that person needs to be asked for money. Most people are good at one half of that. We are looking for someone who can do both. What you will do Answer every inbound call, form, chat, and walk-in. Speed matters more than polish. The firm that calls back first usually signs the case. Qualify each lead against our written rubric so attorney time goes to the matters we can genuinely help with. Run the consultation script and quote fees using our established structure. Ask for the retainer, take the payment, and get the engagement agreement signed. Follow up with anyone who does not sign the same day. Most signed cases in this business come from the third, fourth, or fifth touch. Log every interaction in Attorney Fuel, our intake system. If it is not in the system, it did not happen. Report your close rate weekly, in good weeks and bad ones. Hand every signed matter cleanly to the assigned attorney and paralegal. What you will not do You will not give legal advice. You will not tell a caller what they are charged with, what their exposure is, whether they have a defense, or what they should do next. You gather facts. You explain what the firm does. You quote the fee. Legal questions go to a lawyer, every time. That line is not flexible, and it is a licensing obligation the firm takes seriously. What we are looking for Two or more years in a phone-based sales, intake, or conversion role. A sense of your own conversion numbers. If your employer tracked them, tell us what they were. If nobody ever measured you, tell us how you know you were good at it. Plenty of strong closers have never worked somewhere that kept score. Comfort asking a person in distress for money, because you believe the service is worth what it costs. Availability for after-hours and weekend calls on a rotation. Arrests do not keep business hours. Reliable transportation to Metairie. This role is in the office every working day. Comfort with technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) tools. We use them daily and will train you on ours. Legal experience is a plus, not a requirement. We would rather hire a strong closer and teach them criminal defense than the other way around. Fluency in English and Spanish is a real advantage in this market. This role is probably not a fit if You would rather not be the person who brings up money. You prefer clear direction to figuring something out and reporting back on it. A high-volume phone day drains you rather than energizes you. You need predictable hours with no evening or weekend coverage. None of those are flaws. They are just a poor match for this particular seat, and it is better for both of us to know that now.
Compensation Base salary:
$52,000. On top of base, you earn a monthly bonus tied directly to your close rate: Monthly Close Rate Monthly Bonus Below 25 percent $0 25 to 29 percent $500 30 to 34 percent $1,000 35 to 39 percent $1,750 40 percent and above $2,500 Being straight with you about the starting point: our close rate outside of the owner currently runs in the teens to low twenties. That is the number this role is meant to move. We would rather you know it going in than discover it in month two. At a sustained 35 percent close rate, this role pays $73,000. At 40 percent, $82,000. Those are real numbers on a real structure.
Benefits:
Health coverage, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid training. How to apply 1. Email your resume to with the subject line: Closer, followed by your name. 2. Call 504-233-0529 and leave a voicemail of two minutes or less. You will reach a recording, not a person, so you can do this whenever it suits you. In the voicemail, answer this: a caller tells you the fee is too high and they need to think about it. What do you say next? Do not describe your approach in general terms. Say the actual words, the way you would say them on the phone. We ask for the voicemail because this job is the phone. Two minutes of your voice tells us more than a resume does, and it gives a fair shot to people who are better in conversation than they are on paper. Everyone who sends both pieces will hear back from us. Jarred P.
