Assistant Store Manager The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the role of the Manager. The Assistant Manager assumes responsibility of Manager in his/her Manager's absence. The Assistant Manager is responsible for motivating and inspiring their team to achieve daily sales goals while ensuring both the staff and the customer's experience is positive. The Assistant Manager helps to ensure store is properly staffed at all times and effectively manages staff and follows store procedures consistently. Ability to create and maintain creative visual displays. This is a salaried and full-time, year-round position. Duties and Responsibilities- Assists Store Manager with providing a strong leadership presence, while ensuring that all customers receive excellent service and quality merchandise enforcing company standards.
- Maintains a safe, healthy, and positive store environment, ensuring all protocols and emergency procedures are updated and available for all employees
- Focused on achieving sales budget daily
- Maintains inventory by checking merchandise to determine inventory levels; anticipates customer demand
- Maintains technical knowledge of company POS software program and participates in technical updates as needed. Troubleshoots issues with POS, credit card processors, phones, internet
- Demonstrates and trains staff in desired behaviors; including driving sales, handling difficult and or/complicated sales, cash management, inventory, and follows up with customers
- Motivates staff and develops action plans to improve performance
- Identifies individual staff strengths and motivates them to prepare for future growth
- Ensures all pricing, signage and displays are updated
- Always assures adequate staffing of store, including coordination of breaks
- Communicate with owner, management team and participate in weekly meetings as needed
- Fulfills special orders/coordinates with Manager
- Deposits daily business Qualifications
- 2 years of retail experience required
- High school diploma, advanced education preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to grow and be open to new methods
- Ability to work holidays, weekends and nights
- Able to lift 40 pounds, climb stairs, ladders; walk and/or stand for long periods of time Benefits
