Team Lead — Pittsfield, MA Potency is looking for an experienced, reliable, friendly, and motivated team player to join our retail team in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. We are looking for a part-time Team Lead who is interested in growing with the company and taking on increased responsibility over time. This position is designed with a clear growth path toward becoming a Manager on Duty (MOD) . The right candidate will begin with a structured ramp-up and training period , working alongside our existing team and learning the various roles and responsibilities involved in operating the store. During this time, the focus will be on building product knowledge, learning our systems and procedures, developing trust and rapport with the team, and demonstrating the ability to lead effectively. As the candidate becomes comfortable with the operation and demonstrates strong performance, reliability, and leadership, their responsibilities and scheduled hours will increase with the eventual goal of becoming a self-sufficient and capable MOD . Job Summary As a Team Lead at Potency, you will help provide best-in-class customer service while supporting the day-to-day operation of the dispensary. This is a customer-facing retail position that requires strong communication and customer engagement skills, a thorough understanding of cannabis, and a genuine interest in helping customers find products that fit their needs. The Team Lead will initially work alongside our retail associates while learning Potency's systems, policies, products, and procedures. As training progresses, the Team Lead will take on additional leadership responsibilities, including supporting and supervising the retail team and assisting with evening store operations. The eventual goal of the position is to develop into a Manager on Duty , capable of independently overseeing the store during evening hours and ensuring the operation is efficient, compliant, secure, and profitable . Ramp-Up & Growth The position will begin at approximately 1-2 shifts per week during the training and ramp-up period . As the candidate becomes proficient in the role and demonstrates the necessary leadership skills and reliability, the goal is to increase scheduling to approximately 4-5 shifts per week , depending on business needs, performance, and the candidate's availability. We believe in promoting from within whenever possible, but with our planned growth we are looking to bolster our Pittsfield team. Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service that builds long-term relationships within the community. Develop and maintain strong knowledge of cannabis products, effects, potency, dosing, and methods of consumption. Provide appropriate product recommendations based on customer needs and preferences. Educate customers in a professional, approachable, and responsible manner. Accurately receive, prepare, and complete customer orders and sales. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment. Operations & Compliance Follow all cash-handling procedures accurately and consistently. Maintain accurate customer and operational records in accordance with Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission requirements and all applicable laws and regulations. Assist with inventory stocking, cleaning, organization, and other operational tasks during slower periods. Follow all Potency policies, procedures, security protocols, and compliance requirements. Help identify and address operational issues as they arise. Leadership & Management Development Support and lead retail associates during assigned shifts. Help ensure team members follow company policies, procedures, and best practices. Assist with training and coaching team members as responsibilities increase. Help maintain an efficient and positive work environment. Learn and eventually perform closing procedures and nightly store responsibilities. Prepare nightly deposits and investigate cash variances or discrepancies. Work toward becoming capable of independently overseeing the store as Manager on Duty. Requirements Minimum 21 years of age, as required by Massachusetts law. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license or Massachusetts state ID. Ability to pass all required Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission background checks. Ability to reliably work nights and weekends. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for a distance of 50 feet. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform other physical activities associated with retail operations. Must maintain a clean, professional appearance and appropriate work attire. Preferred Qualifications 2+ year of retail or cashier experience preferred. 2+ year of customer service experience preferred. Previous cannabis retail experience is a plus. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.

Part-time to start, with opportunity for increased hours

$18.00-$20.00 per hour
