The Hospital Security Manager will oversee the healthcare security operations, as well as the supervision and training of the healthcare security officers to ensure full coverage of posts. Essential functions of the position include: #1- Leadership
- Provides supervision for MDIH Security Department. Serves as a role model to enhance/develop staffs' security expertise, critical thinking, communication skills and professional behavior. #2
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels, mix and competency; compliance with all Hospital and regulatory agencies' policies, procedures and requirements, and the provision of quality patient care. #3
- Security Duties
- Maintains security logs of periodic rounds and ensures all officers are completing rounds.
- Maintains the technical competencies required by area of professional practice including de-escalation training and conflict resolution.
- Serves as a resource person for medical and nursing staff in caring for patients that present difficult, or potentially violent or self harm behaviors. #4
- Responsibility/Accountability
- Accepts accountability for actions and work assigned. Delegates work appropriately to staff; supervising, evaluating and holding them accountable for completion of such work. #5
