Job Description

H.O.M.E., Inc. is seeking a part-time Shelter Support team member for our Orland based shelters for the following weekend shifts: Saturdays and Sundays, 3:00pm - 11:00pm Support Staff are responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all shelter guests. Candidates should have a caring heart and be comfortable maintaining good boundaries while helping people in crisis. Shelter Support staff should be able to work independently as well as with a team. Experience in a helping profession preferred. Experience working in residential programs, a plus.
Terms of Employment :
This is a part-time, non-exempt, at-will position. Standard hours are Saturday & Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Compensation range is:
$19.00-$22.00/hour. Part-time employees receive accrued PTO and sick time as well as paid time off for holidays/birthday.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Experience in a helping profession. 2. Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues of homelessness and poverty. 3. Effective written and oral communication skills. 4. Ability to set strong boundaries and work independently. 5. Basic computer competency. 6. Valid Maine driver's license. 7. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as moving and lifting objects weighing up to 30lbs. H.O.M.E.
