This role includes supervising team members, completing financial and operational close-out tasks, maintaining high standards of customer service, store cleanliness and safety, and securing the facility each night. Key Responsibilities Lead the closing shift: supervise all closing associates and ensure task completion.
Conduct end-of-day cash reconciliation:
balance registers, verify totals, prepare deposit/inventory reports.
Secure the store:
ensure all closing security procedures are followed (e.g., locking doors, setting alarms, checking CCTV if applicable). Verify that store is clean, organized, and presentable for next day: floor swept, shelves stocked, refrigeration checked, trash removed. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including health & safety, alcohol/tobacco/nicotine sales laws, and internal control standards. Handle any customer issues or escalations at closing; ensure customer service remains high until "last customer". Review closing checklist and log any issues that need follow-up; communicate with morning/next shift staff to ensure a smooth hand-off. Monitor and assist with stock replenishment, especially for closing shift tasks (e.g., prepping for next day, rotating perishables, checking dates). Work with management to identify opportunities for cost control, loss prevention, and efficiency improvements during closing operations.
Train and coach closing associates:
