Responsibilities Lead and motivate the retail sales team to achieve sales targets through effective coaching, training, and performance management. Oversee daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS system management, and customer service excellence. Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and coordinating purchasing to ensure product availability and freshness. Supervise staff recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, employee orientation, and ongoing training & development initiatives to build a knowledgeable and compliant team. Implement merchandising strategies and pricing policies that maximize sales while adhering to regulatory guidelines. Maintain accurate bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and record-keeping for all store activities. Ensure compliance with all local regulations related to cannabis sales, safety standards, and store policies through regular audits and staff training. Foster a positive store environment by promoting excellent customer service practices and resolving customer inquiries or issues promptly. Utilize management skills to oversee shift scheduling, inventory management systems (POS), cash handling procedures, and operational workflows efficiently. Experience Proven management experience in retail industry sales teams or retail store management roles with a focus on supervising staff in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, POS systems, purchasing processes, and retail math including pricing strategies. Strong background in customer service with excellent communication skills and phone etiquette. Experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development within a retail setting. Knowledge of retail industry sales techniques combined with managerial communication skills for effective team leadership. Familiarity with operational management tasks such as budgeting, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and inventory control. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered an asset for serving diverse customer bases effectively. Previous experience in grocery or cannabis dispensary environments is highly desirable; familiarity with retail math and merchandising principles is essential for success in this role.
