Duties Manage all aspects of the body shop operations, including workflow, staffing, and quality control to meet production targets and customer expectations. Supervise technicians and support staff, providing guidance on auto body repairs, collision damage assessments, and repair techniques. Oversee vehicle repairs involving auto body refinishing, aluminum repairs, metal fabrication, auto glass replacement, and detailing to ensure precision and safety standards are met. Utilize computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software to accurately assess repairs and communicate estimates with clients. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment for all team members. Conduct root cause analysis on defect resolution issues related to vehicle repairs to improve process efficiency and reduce rework. Coordinate with clients to communicate repair progress, explain technical details clearly, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the repair process. Qualifications Proven experience in collision repair shop management or automotive body shop supervision with dealership or collision center background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, auto restoration processes, and auto body repair techniques. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, paint application equipment, and computer-aided estimating software. Familiarity with automotive materials such as aluminum, metals used in fabrication, paints, and refinishing products. Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy lifting, metal fabrication, auto glass installation, and use of PPE. Ability to perform defect root cause analysis to identify underlying issues in vehicle repairs. Excellent client communication skills to explain repair procedures clearly and manage customer expectations effectively. Basic math skills for estimating parts costs and labor hours accurately. Experience working in collision repair shops or auto body facilities with exposure to heavy lifting equipment and technical proficiency with power tools.
