Retail Assistant ManagerJob Overview We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Retail Assistant Manager to support daily store operations, lead the sales team, and help create an exceptional shopping experience. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, hands-on retail leadership experience, solid POS and inventory knowledge, and a working understanding of flowers, plants, seasonal arrangements, and floral care. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys retail sales, floral products, team leadership, and keeping a busy store running smoothly. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily store operations to ensure the shop runs efficiently, professionally, and on schedule.
  • Lead, motivate, and support retail staff in meeting sales goals and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Use flower and plant knowledge to assist customers with product selection, care instructions, seasonal availability, and gift recommendations.
  • Support floral sales by promoting arrangements, plants, add-on items, and special occasion products.
  • Operate POS systems accurately for sales, returns, exchanges, and inventory updates.
  • Maintain product knowledge across flowers, plants, gifts, and store merchandise to confidently answer customer questions.
  • Monitor inventory levels, organize stock, assist with replenishment, and help maintain fresh, attractive displays.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and management to support store goals, deadlines, and daily priorities.
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to help team members improve performance and customer service.
  • Create and update product lists, inventory documents, and basic reports using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Work independently when needed, stay self-motivated, and complete assigned tasks by set deadlines.
  • Answer phones professionally, take accurate messages or orders, and assist customers with questions.
  • Maintain reliable transportation and consistent attendance. Requirements
  • Previous retail management, assistant management, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of flowers, plants, floral care, seasonal products, but not necessary.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and support a team.
  • Experience using POS systems for sales transactions and inventory updates.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to make helpful product recommendations.
  • Experience with inventory control, stock organization, replenishment, and merchandising.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word for product lists, inventory tracking, and administrative tasks.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional phone etiquette and the ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
