A Retail Associate Manager assists the manager at a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. Supervises sales associates and retail store operations. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. May prepare work schedules and hire, train and evaluate sales associates. May supervise warehouse, cleaning, maintenance or security staff. Assists with resolving customer complaints.

- Assistant Store Manager Leadership
- Leads by example in all aspects of the job Shows appropriate levels of maturity, personal confidence and self-assurance.
- Creates an environment in which employees continuously exceed customer expectations Consider the customer when making decisions and taking action Personally, establish strong rapport with customers and vendors and demonstrate customers are always a priority Observes employees and offer feedback on level of service being provided to customers on a consistent basis.
- Consistently achieves standards (Profitability, payroll, inventory) Assists in breaking down desired results into manageable goals and establishes plans for achieving.
- Maintains all store operations including inventory, payroll, scheduling, security systems, budget expenses Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing all policy and procedures Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures Ensures availability of merchandise and services, maintaining inventories, reviewing merchandising activities and determining additional needed sales promotions Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements Mind the bottom line and control expenses where you can control Store Presentation•Maintains a well•presented store on a consistent basis Responds to business needs by updating and refreshing store presentation Keeps store shoppable and appealing to our customers Keeps store and backroom organized for efficiency Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
- Consistently maintains a quality staff Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks Communicates expectations and coaching team to drive sales with awareness of goals Works with each team member and spends time coaching, motivating and developing them promoting teamwork Anticipates future staffing needs Assists manager in interviewing Holds employees accountable through consistent dialogue Delegation of employee job duties and follow up on work results Works a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business Marketing•Promotes business in the community Marketing merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotions, displays Seeks and acts on marketing opportunities to be recognized in the community Sets marketing and signing in store Encourages team to promote business in social channels Has a wide range of relationships in the community Communication•open communication and practicing 2•way communication/informed Hold self and others accountable to job responsibilities Reports changes and variances in sales and purchases Communicates weekly and contributes business recaps Communicates store information relevant to team Communicates store needs weekly Is responsible for the store operations in the absence of the store manager.
