Job Summary:
An established heavy civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to oversee daily shop operations and lead a team of mechanics. This position is responsible for coordinating equipment repairs, managing parts and fuel inventories, supporting equipment utilization, and ensuring our fleet of paving equipment, trucks, and construction machinery is maintained in a safe, reliable, and ready-to-work condition. Working closely with dispatch and field operations, the Shop Foreman plays a key role in maximizing equipment uptime and supporting project success. The ideal candidate is an experienced heavy equipment maintenance leader who understands the demands of the construction industry and can effectively balance equipment reliability, shop productivity, team leadership, and customer service to field operations.

Job Duties & Requirements:

Preferred Education/ Experience:
7+ years of heavy equipment maintenance and repair experience Previous Shop Foreman, Lead Mechanic, or Maintenance Supervisor experience preferred Technical training in diesel technology, heavy equipment, or related field Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and construction equipment Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience leading and developing mechanics and shop personnel Ability to prioritize work, manage shop workflow, and meet deadlines Computer proficiency and experience with maintenance software Strong safety mindset and commitment to quality workmanship Reliable, organized, and customer-focused leader with strong problem-solving skills
