An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.

Team :
Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability by coaching Team Leads and Associates. Set clear expectations and celebrate wins.Drive Sales & Service :
Champion a strong sales floor presence. Empower your team to deliver expert recommendations, promote featured products, and meet sales goals through genuine customer connections.Daily Operations :
Support opening and closing routines, cash handling, task delegation, and shift leadership. Maintain store readiness and operational excellence.Customer Experience Leadership :
Take ownership of elevated service moments—resolving concerns with empathy and creating a welcoming environment.Inventory & Merchandising :
Manage deliveries, assist with inventory accuracy, and ensure merchandising supports both sales and customer flow.Policy & Compliance :
Model and enforce compliance with all alcohol regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.Communication & Reporting :
Keep the Store Manager and corporate team informed with daily sales data, operational updates, and customer feedback.Team Development :
Help interview, train, and develop team members. Promote participation in professional development programs and build a pipeline of future leaders.Vendor & Community Relationships :
Work effectively with vendors, merchandisers, and local community members to strengthen store partnerships. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in the wine, beer, and/or spirits industry Prior retail leadership experience required Strong sales acumen and customer service instincts Experience with POS and inventory systems Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills 21+ years old (required by alcohol regulations) Availability Requirements- Open availability is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements To perform the essential functions of this job, an individual must be able to meet the following physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation: Standing and walking for extended periods Lifting/moving up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally Bending, kneeling, reaching overhead and below waist level Using hands and fingers for handling product, using registers, and performing cleaning duties Working Conditions Busy, customer-focused retail environment Exposure to cold environments while restocking Frequent multitasking and shifting priorities during peak hours Noise levels typical of retail stores Why Join Us?
