: Store Manager/Owner•
POSITION PURPOSE
Assist in managing and promoting all aspects of the business while serving as a Keyholder/Manager-on-Duty, with primary ownership of the buy process and merchandise flow . This role leads the daily execution of intake, evaluation, quoting, payouts, and processing to ensure quality product is moved efficiently from the buy counter to the sales floor. The Buy Process/Store Assistant Manager leads by example, makes independent operational decisions within company guidelines, helps cover open shifts as needed, and trains team members across all store functions—while delivering an exceptional customer experience for both sellers and shoppers.•
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Buy Process Leadership (Primary Focus) 1. Lead the end-to-end buy process on assigned shifts: intake, review, selection, quote generation, offer presentation, payout, and seller communication. 2. Communicate the buy process consistently and professionally to customers, including expectations for condition, style, safety standards, and how offers are determined. 3. Manage buy counter flow and wait times : provide clear, accurate wait-time ranges based on current queue and item volume; maintain first-come, first-served standards. 4.
Ensure buying standards are followed:
select next-to-new, current styles and items that sell well; pass on items with stains, tears, heavy wear, or that do not meet store needs. 5. Quality control and compliance : confirm toys/gear/furniture meet current safety standards, are clean, in good working order, and include all original parts; follow any recall/safety procedures in place. Processing, Merchandising & Inventory Flow (Primary Focus) 7. Drive merchandise flow from intake to the sales floor by prioritizing processing, pricing, ticketing, and timely floor replenishment, (with direction from the Owner). 8. Ensure pricing and ticketing accuracy according to store guidelines and current sales strategy. 9. Maintain a "customer-ready" presentation by ensuring processed product is merchandised to plan, racks are full, and high-demand categories are supported. 10. Partner with store leadership to identify opportunities in buying and processing (what's needed, what's overstocked, and what to promote).
Keyholder / Assistant
Manager / Manager-on-Duty Responsibilities (All Keyholder Functions) 11. Lead assigned shifts ensuring customers are greeted immediately, needs are determined, and all transactions are handled professionally and enthusiastically. 12. Serve as
Manager-on-Duty :
make timely, independent decisions to resolve customer concerns, prioritize tasks, address operational issues, and uphold store standards within established policies. 13. Coverage and scheduling support : maintain flexible availability to cover open shifts and callouts (including evenings/weekends/holidays) and coordinate with leadership to ensure full coverage. 14. Opening and closing responsibilities : key control; store locking/arming; safe and cash handling responsibilities as assigned; deposit preparation; and end-of-day reporting/shift notes. 15. POS proficiency : process sales, returns, buys, and loyalty sign-ups accurately and efficiently (DRS system), while modeling speed and accuracy. 16. Training and coaching : onboard and train new employees on all store operations (buying, pricing, sales, merchandising, POS, loss prevention/safety, and customer service); provide ongoing coaching, cross-training, and skill checks. 17. Loss prevention/safety : model and enforce LP procedures, incident response, and safe work practices; perform audits and address variances. 18.
Communication :
document and relay shift notes, performance observations, operational updates, and buy/process trends to management. 19 . Other duties as assigned .
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior retail and/or customer service experience with proven leadership skills; keyholder or supervisor experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and hold others accountable to standards.
  • Strong knowledge or ability to learn product, brand, condition, and safety expectations quickly.
  • Independent decision-making and sound judgment within company policies.
  • Reliable, flexible availability to cover open shifts and short-notice needs.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills; positive, solutions-focused.
  • Sales
  • and goal-oriented with excellent time management and multitasking ability.
  • High level of responsibility, integrity, and attention to detail; comfortable with POS and basic office/scheduling tools.
  • COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Wage :
    $16
  • 20 per hour, based on experience, performance, and availability.
  • Benefits :
    Currently no benefits, but we plan to re-evaluate down the road and offer paid time off and possible other benefits.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8-10+ hours per day.
  • Ability to lift and/or push up to 50 lbs. without assistance; heavier lifting with team/cart as needed.
  • Bending, rotating, and reaching consistent with a retail environment and stocking/receiving.
  • Exposure to typical retail environmental conditions and noise levels.
  • Ability to operate a computerized sales terminal.
