A Retail Associate Manager assists the manager at a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. Supervises sales associates and retail store operations. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. May prepare work schedules and hire, train and evaluate sales associates. May supervise warehouse, cleaning, maintenance or security staff. Assists with resolving customer complaints.

Job Description
- Supervising, training, and motivating staff to perform at their ultimate best
- Assisting the retail store manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract customers
- Coordinating the daily customer service operations such as sales process, orders, and payments
- Tracking the progress of weekly, monthly, and annual objectives
- Monitoring and maintaining the store inventory
- Evaluating employee performance and identifying hiring and training needs
- Coaching and supporting new and existing sales associates in the store
- Suggesting sales techniques and ideas with the team to increase sales revenue
- Communicating with clients and evaluating their needs
- Evaluating consumer behavior and adjusting product positioning
- Producing reports and analysing and interpreting retail data
- Making sure that all employees adhere to company's policies and guidelines
- Acting as a store representative and setting an example for the rest of the team
- Ensuring a high quality/standard of work and service throughout. Core competencies, knowledge, and experience
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a retail store, ideally occupying a supervisory or leadership role
- Familiarity with financial and customer service principles
- Able to create and analyse reports, spreadsheets, and sales statistics
- Proficient user of MS Office
- Leadership and organizational abilities
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Problem-solving attitude
- Flexibility to work in shifts
