Summary As a Produce Manager at Harris Teeter, you will oversee the daily operations of our produce department, ensuring the highest quality standards and exceptional customer service. This role is vital in maintaining our commitment to fresh products and enhancing the shopping experience for our customers. Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of the produce department, including staff supervision and scheduling. Ensure all produce meets quality standards and is presented attractively to customers. Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of products. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their produce needs and inquiries. Train and mentor staff on best practices for handling produce and maintaining department standards. Implement promotional displays and ensure pricing accuracy in the department. Monitor sales trends and adjust inventory levels accordingly to maximize profitability. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the produce department. Qualifications Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles, preferably in grocery or perishable goods. Strong customer service skills to enhance customer satisfaction. Solid understanding of retail math to manage inventory effectively. Ability to lead a team while fostering a positive work environment. Experience with cash handling and POS systems is beneficial but not required. Knowledge of produce quality standards and handling techniques is preferred. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
