$30,000-$35,000 annualized (FTE) Perfect for: A book-loving self-starter who wants real management experience and room to grow Job Summary Since 2012, David's Used Books has been a home for independent bookworms in Greenville, NC. We're growing and we need a right-hand person to help us keep up. The D.U.B. Lead plays a central role in daily operations: keeping inventory moving, the store running smoothly, and customers happy. Our ideal candidate is Hungry to grow, Humble to learn, and Smart with people. Reporting directly to owner, the Store Lead is the operational backbone of DUB. Minimum Qualifications Three years of customer service or retail experience OR a Bachelor's degree Passionate reader with broad knowledge of books and genres Comfortable with computers and able to learn inventory management software quickly Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks Proven problem-solving and time management skills Comfortable with physical work: prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs. A people person who genuinely enjoys helping customers and working with others Preferred Qualifications MLIS, Information Systems or Business degree Retail management experience Entrepreneurial sprit Responsibilities Inventory and Operations Scan and process incoming book inventory using our inventory management software Research and price incoming books (ISBN lookup, market comps, condition assessment) Maintain and update inventory records; identify and flag discrepancies Manage backlog reduction and keep shelving organized and current Support book buyback process and apply pricing guidelines consistently Store Management Open and close the store; manage daily operations in owner's absence Keep the store clean, organized, shoppable, and inviting at all times Create and maintain displays that are neat, tidy, and visually engaging Support part-time and contract staff as directed Model store standards and hold yourself and others accountable to them Customer Experience Provide warm, genuine, and knowledgeable customer service on every visit Engage customers with book recommendations and help them find what they're looking for Support a store environment where customers feel welcomed and want to come back Assist with community events and outreach as directed by David Core Competencies Interpersonal skills and self-management Initiative and accountability Attention to detail and critical thinking Clear and professional communication Adaptability in a small-business environment How to Apply Send your resume to .
