Job Description

Join a Great Team and Make a Difference in Your Community! Communities In Schools (CIS) is excited to offer a full-time Manager position at our Thrift Shop in Southport. We are seeking a motivated and positive individual to oversee the daily operations of the shop and help support our mission.
Position Overview:
As the Manager, you will take charge of managing the thrift shop's daily functions, including supervising Retail Sales Associates and volunteers, scheduling shifts, and maintaining a welcoming environment. You'll play a key role in driving sales and donations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable shopping experience for customers, and fostering a positive workplace for our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CIS Thrift Shop Lead, manage, and schedule staff and volunteers with a positive, respectful attitude Boost sales and donations while maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment Ensure all staff and volunteers follow organizational procedures and policies Conducts outreach to create shop awareness to include local events, volunteer and donor recruitment Manage and post regularly on shop's social media pages to maximize shop exposure and promote strong sales revenue for the shop Organizes and resets the sales floor, able to meet shop merchandising principles Handle financial transactions, including cash register close-out and daily bank deposits Collaborates with the Retail Operations Director on sales strategies to boost shop revenue Monitors budget revenue and expense, adjusting operations as needed Maintains records and files related to volunteers, scheduling, finance, and general operations Work five days a week; must be available some holidays and weekends Performs other duties as assigned by the
Retail Operations Director Qualifications/Education:
High school diploma with relevant professional experience Strong background in retail sales and customer service Proficient in POS systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications Retail and volunteer management experience is a plus Excellent communication and organizational skills Able to meet the physical demands of the position including lifting 25lbs.
