Job Basics:
Full-Time, $18-$19 Hourly, 40 hours a week. About the Role Are you handy with tools, love working outdoors, and enjoy hands-on mechanical work? TrailersPlus is looking for a Shop Assistant to join our Lot Operations team! In this role, you'll be a key player in keeping our store running smoothly. You'll handle hands-on service and repair work on trailers, manage inbound/outbound inventory, operate shop equipment, and help keep our facility safe and presentable. If you thrive in an active, team-oriented environment and want a steady 40-hour workweek with great benefits, we'd love to talk to you!
What You'll Do Mechanical & Service:
Inspect, service, and repair trailers of all makes and models. Install parts, accessories, and perform warranty work.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate power tools, welding equipment (company certification provided), and a Kubota tractor (or equivalent).
Inventory & Lot Operations:
Assist with receiving and processing deliveries of trailers, parts, and supplies. Conduct daily safety and quality control checks on inventory.
Customer & Sales Support:
Prepare products for customer presentations and demonstrations. Assist store management with trailer sales as needed ( sales license required in some states ).
Facility Maintenance:
Help keep the lot, shop, and facility clean, safe, organized, and looking professional.
What We're Looking For Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Strong troubleshooting skills, comfortable with basic hand/power tools, and a great eye for detail.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to routinely lift 50-75 lbs, stand, kneel, squat, climb ladders/trailers, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Basic Math & Reasoning:
Ability to handle practical problem-solving and basic trade-related math calculations.
Communication:
Clear communication skills to collaborate with the team and assist customers. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus!
Computer Skills:
