Sherwin-Williams, a global leader in paints, coatings and surface treatments, is seeking an Assistant Manager Trainee for our Retail Operations. In this role, you'll support daily store operations, assist with team leadership, and deliver exceptional customer service. You'll help drive sales, maintain inventory, and ensure visual and operational standards are met. Responsibilities Support the Store Manager in daily retail operations for Sherwin-Williams, ensuring an exceptional in-store experience for every customer. Assist with supervising, coaching, and motivating sales associates, modeling Sherwin-Williams' culture of diversity, inclusion, growth, innovation, and collaboration. Engage directly with customers to understand project needs, recommend appropriate paints, coatings, and surface treatment products, and provide basic color-matching guidance. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash and credit transactions accurately, and assist with daily register balancing and deposit preparation. Help manage inventory by receiving, stocking, rotating, and organizing merchandise, while maintaining accurate counts and reducing out-of-stock situations. Maintain store appearance through merchandising, shelf organization, pricing, and signage that highlight Sherwin-Williams' products and promotions. Support safe store operations by following established safety procedures for handling paints, coatings, and related materials, and by keeping sales and storage areas clean and hazard-free. Assist with executing sales initiatives, promotional activities, and local marketing efforts to drive traffic and grow paint and coatings sales. Participate actively in training to build deep product knowledge in paints, coatings, and surface treatments and to develop leadership and retail management skills. Provide feedback to store leadership on customer trends, product performance, and opportunities to improve service and store efficiency. Help schedule and coordinate daily tasks for team members to ensure adequate coverage for sales, tinting, delivery preparation, and stocking. Contribute to a collaborative team environment by communicating clearly, resolving basic customer issues, and escalating complex concerns to store leadership as needed. Prepare to step into key Assistant Manager responsibilities over time, including opening and closing procedures, performance coaching, and operational decision-making.
