BAGEL STORE MANAGER
Full-Time | 5-6 Days Per Week | 6:30 AM-3:30 PM |
Starting Salary:
$60,000+ We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Bagel Store Manager to take full responsibility for the daily operations, team, and performance of an assigned store. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can lead by example, make decisions independently, hold employees accountable, solve problems, and take ownership of the store's overall performance. The Store Manager will be responsible for daily operations, staffing, training, sales, customer service, inventory, cost control, food safety, cleanliness, and maintaining company standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDaily Store Operations Take full ownership of the day-to-day operation of the assigned store. Open and close the store according to company procedures. Ensure the store is properly staffed and operating efficiently. Ensure all products are prepared, displayed, and served according to company standards. Maintain food quality, portion control, presentation, and consistency. Ensure the store is clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times. Monitor equipment and report maintenance or operational issues promptly. Resolve daily operational problems without unnecessary escalation to ownership. Team Management & Leadership Hire, onboard, train, and develop employees. Create weekly schedules based on business needs. Train employees on company policies, procedures, food preparation, customer service, and safety standards. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Address performance issues and consistently enforce company policies. Maintain employee accountability and professional workplace standards. Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities when needed. Build and maintain a strong, professional team culture. Identify strong employees and help develop future shift leaders and managers. Sales & Customer Service Take responsibility for daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance. Monitor sales and key performance indicators. Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve store performance. Provide excellent customer service and lead the team by example. Handle customer complaints professionally and work toward appropriate resolutions. Monitor customer reviews and address recurring concerns. Promote catering and large orders. Ensure catering orders are completed accurately and on time. Inventory & Cost Control Monitor daily inventory and product levels. Complete inventory counts accurately and on schedule. Order products and supplies as directed. Receive and verify deliveries. Properly store and rotate food and supplies. Monitor food waste, product loss, and portion control. Identify unusual inventory variances and report them. Help control food, labor, and operating costs. Ensure the store does not run out of essential products or supplies. Food Safety & Compliance Maintain compliance with Health Department requirements. Ensure employees follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures. Monitor food temperatures, storage, labeling, and expiration dates. Ensure proper employee hygiene and food-handling practices. Maintain required cleaning and sanitation schedules. Ensure permits, certificates, logs, and required documentation are maintained. Maintain company safety and operational standards. Immediately report compliance or safety concerns to ownership. Store Organization & Maintenance Maintain a clean, organized, and professional store environment. Ensure front-of-house and back-of-house areas are properly maintained. Conduct daily store walkthroughs. Communication & Accountability Communicate regularly with ownership regarding store performance. Provide updates on staffing, sales, inventory, maintenance, and customer concerns. Bring solutions—not just problems—to ownership. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed. Take ownership of mistakes and work quickly to correct them. Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, employees, finances, and business information.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous restaurant, food service, hospitality, or retail management experience preferred. Previous team-management experience strongly preferred. Bagel shop, café, breakfast restaurant, or quick-service restaurant experience is a plus. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to train, coach, and hold employees accountable. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage scheduling, inventory, labor, and daily store operations. Basic understanding of sales, labor costs, food costs, and KPIs. Reliable, dependable, and accountable. Ability to work mornings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed. Bilingual candidates are a plus.
SCHEDULE
Full-Time | 5-6 Days Per Week | 6:30 AM-3:30 PM The Store Manager must be flexible and available to work mornings, weekends, holidays, and different shifts based on the needs of the business. This is a hands-on management position. The Store Manager is expected to work alongside the team, actively manage the operation, and be involved in the day-to-day business—not simply supervise from an office.
COMPENSATION
Starting Salary:
$60,000+ per year Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Performance-based bonuses and additional incentives may be available based on experience and store performance.
