This position requires a deep knowledge of wines, strong leadership capabilities, and key-holding responsibilities. The ideal candidate will hold a WSET certification or equivalent and provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a high standard of excellence in the retail or hospitality setting.

Areas of Competency:

• Wine Expertise & Product Knowledge Serve as the go-to expert for all wine-related inquiries Maintain extensive knowledge of wine varieties, regions, pairings, and industry trends Conduct wine tastings and provide recommendations to enhance customer experience Assist in inventory management, selection, and procurement of wines
• Operational Excellence Execute daily business operations with precision and efficiency Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and responsible alcohol service laws Oversee store opening and closing procedures as a key-holder
• Customer and Client Engagement Provide high-level customer service with a focus on wine selection and education Address inquiries, resolve issues, and create an engaging experience for customers Foster relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers to enhance product offerings
• Team Leadership & Collaboration Mentor and guide junior team members on wine knowledge and service techniques Collaborate with departments to optimize workflows and drive sales Assist management in decision-making, staff training, and strategic planning
• Project Management & Execution Organize and lead wine-related events, tastings, and promotions Monitor sales performance and provide reports to leadership Ensure accurate product labeling, pricing, and merchandising of wines
• Technology & Tools Utilize company software, POS systems, and inventory management tools Identify opportunities to leverage technology for efficiency improvements Train team members on digital tools and best practices

Job Requirements:

WSET Level 1 certification or higher (or equivalent certification) Strong knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and food pairings Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or wine industry roles preferred Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Key-holding experience and ability to manage store operations The Senior Associate
