Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of Jersey is seeking a Manager Retail Operations for the Department of Dining Services. Reporting to the Executive Director of Dining Services, and in accordance with policies and procedures set forth by Rutgers University Dining Services, supervises all activities, with an annual operation budget of $500,000. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Oversees all food production forecasting and planning of a major dining facility of Rutgers University Dining Services, including student board, cash, catering and special events.
Identifies food services objectives and special problem areas and determines means by which objectives might be met and weaknesses eliminated
Handles the auditing of all unit activities, funds, records and supplies: Food and nonfood inventories, billing of service (weekly operations reports) and receiving food in accordance to standards set by specifications of Dining Services.
Assures compliance with all safety and sanitations rules and regulations. FLSA Exempt

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree, preferably in food service management, culinary arts, nutrition or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, plus a minimum of two years of experience in food service management. Certifications/Licenses A valid driver's license would be required for this position.
ServSafe Certification. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Computer literacy in industry standard software. Preferred Qualifications Four years of experience in the food service management. Equipment Utilized Familiarity with RIAS HCM, Kronos Timekeeper, Absence Reporting System, FoodPro. Physical Demands and Work Environment Requires use of a personal vehicle.
Ability to lift and carry food, equipment and beverage items.
Ability to work at variety of locations and work a flexible schedule including extended daily hours, weekends, or during recesses. Special Conditions Multiple vacancies.
