This role involves overseeing daily store activities, managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining inventory control within the fishing section. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, retail management experience, and a passion for fishing and outdoor recreation. As a key team member, you will drive sales, optimize store performance, and foster a welcoming environment for customers and employees alike. Duties Supervise daily operations of the fishing department, including stocking, merchandising, and inventory management to ensure product availability and presentation standards are met. Lead, train, and develop staff members to deliver exceptional customer service while adhering to company policies and safety regulations. Manage employee scheduling, shift assignments, and payroll processing to maintain optimal staffing levels. Implement effective merchandising techniques to promote seasonal products and high-margin items. Ensure accurate cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) system operation, and cashier supervision during shifts. Conduct regular inventory audits, control stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints professionally, and fostering a positive shopping experience. Collaborate with management on sales strategies, promotional events, and operational improvements to meet sales targets. Maintain compliance with safety standards, store policies, and health regulations. Experience Proven management experience within the retail industry, specifically in sales team supervision or store management roles. Demonstrated expertise in retail math including pricing, budgeting, and financial record keeping such as bookkeeping. Strong background in inventory control systems and POS technology. Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new employees, and conducting training & development programs. Familiarity with the retail industry's sales techniques including negotiation skills and customer engagement strategies. Previous supervisory roles involving shift management and operational oversight. Knowledge of fishing products or outdoor recreation equipment is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent organizational skills coupled with effective communication skills for managerial responsibilities.
